Resolving Conflicts (Inside & Out), with LaChelle Amos

An International Peace & Conflict Resolution Expert with experience leading teams in the Middle East, East Africa, and South Asia, LaChelle Amos blend this peace-building experience with Heart Wisdom coaching, yoga, and sound healing.

LaChelle is a contributing author to the internationally best-selling book Awakening: Meet the Women Birthing a New Earth, which reached #1 in the US, UK, Australia, and the Netherlands. The essence of her chapter is heart-centered conflict resolution; creating the foundations to be the peaceful change.

As the Founder of Silence of Sound Yoga, she blends this experience together with her Yoga Alliance 500-hour Registered Yoga Teacher certification as an international teacher and sound healing practitioner.

LaChelle shares her experiences as a country director for various non-profit organizations on the impact of conflict on both a local and international level. She speaks to how conflicts have the ability to negatively impact both ways, international conflicts negatively impact local communities and local conflicts have the potential to impact international peace agreements.

She further outlines the impacts of both voluntary and involuntary migration, the impact of climate change on migratory patterns, and conflicts that arise out of fear over the resources of water, food, and agriculture. The impact of fear is that it creates an inability to rationalize how one processes thoughts and how one societally responds to fear. To transcend fear, there is a need to master mindful awareness to objectively see beliefs and identities that one is holding onto and deconstruct who we think we are.

The question was raised “how do two sides come together if both sides do not want to?” LaChelle was clear it cannot be done from one’s head, the mental state, if we deal with conflict from there, it will not be resolved. People must come into their heart and come from the heart. They need to be able to feel it, be able to sit with this discomfort. This is the key to overcoming the challenges of differences.

LaChelle uses and teaches yoga and sound therapy practices to come into our body, get into the heart instead of the head, not operate out of fear and operate from mindful awareness. Through mindful practices, one can identify, remove and rewire and create different outcomes with a new mindset. You then become more aware, less responsive, and act less impulsively.

This is a much-needed conversation that further supports the goal of working towards peace and unity.

LaChelle says, "I guide women to tune into their own intuitive Heart Wisdom by teaching them how to resolve their external conflicts and holding a safe space for their own inner healing work. I intuitively blend the wisdom and tools of peace & conflict resolution, yoga, sound healing, and heart-centered coaching, so that they fully embody (inner) and radiate (outer) peace."
